Monday, July 14th: Afternoon

Since I spent the better part of the day updating my blog, I decided to skip the trip to Harajuku so that I wouldn't get stuck on the metro at the height of rush hour and wound up walking over to Ginza to revisit it instead. On Saturday, we were so hungry and focused on finding lunch that we didn't spend very much time just strolling around. So, I strolled and looked in the Mitsukoshi there today. It's only about a half hour walk from the hotel.

I saw all the fancy jewelry flagships today, and I can't help but think of Nashara when I see Mikimoto! So, Nashara, this one is for you:

All the flagships have such distinctive buildings, unlike anything in the States. Plus, they are huge. Not even New York has such large stores!

I also walked past a store called Matsuya- it seemed very high end. The windows had lots of Fendi that I had never seen, like wallets with bright green and yellow interiors. It made me miss Mom and I wish she was here so we could browse the store together. Next time I go to Ginza, I will peek around Matsuya Ginza.

I did tour all the floors of Mitsukoshi Ginza. All the fancy boutiques are on floors 2 and 3, then it gets less fancy as you rise. They still have a section devoted to kimono and a nice home goods floor as well. They also have the most horrid, ugly swimsuits I have ever seen. All crazy, cut-out one pieces with stuff all over them- frou frou ruffles on top of gauze bits and sequins. They don't even look like they could get wet! I wonder how the Mitsukoshi in Nihonbashi will compare.

I think this is it for me today- maybe a trip to the food hall for dinner. I'm feeling the jet lag a bit more, so I might read for now. Read and enjoy my Jasmine Tea! All the convenience stores sell loads of types of bottled, cold green tea. The Jasmine one is particularly nice and very girly. None of them are sweetened, which is a bonus. In the States, you can't find a bottled iced tea that's not sweetened. And mostly they are so over sweetened! Sick.

I am so honored to have a shout out! I heart mikimoto. Scott thinks you should have said to Nashara (aka the Pearl Greedy want monster). HA.

I have to say my favorite so far has been the BIZ candy. I'm dying over the BIZ candy!

Its so nice to follow you along on your trip!
